INCOMPETENCE

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
It has been almost 9 months and we still do not have our PTO. We have failed 5 inspections with the City of Clovis. We have had to involve the State Contractor's Board on 2 occasions. We are currently paying not only our PG&E bill, but a solar loan payment as well. Absolutely ridiculous. Infinity Energy has been so unhelpful and apparently doesn't give a damn. We are awaiting their response to another inquiry from the State Contractor's Board. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

I have billed them for damages done to our property in the amount of $3400 +or- and they are only wanting to pay for $1150.00. This has been going on now for one year. I have sent them a completed break down of all the costs and dates of the damages. The y have cut thru my water lines at four locations and cut thru power lines at the same locations with a trencher. if you can send me a e-mail address, I can send you the letter or contact me at (209) 772-**** Donald Wilkinson

There website is hit and miss on whether it takes your payment. I called to ask them to stop sending me late paper states, they refused, started sending me 2 or 3, instead of 1. It's been nothing but constant harassment from these people. Every month, it's something with them.

Only use Infinite Energy if you want them to drain your bank account without telling you first.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
First of all, you aren't paying for just your usage. You also pay a "base charge" every month, plus a "customer service fee." For us it was a minimum of $35 per month on average, PLUS your usage. Our bill was always absurd. When we moved into our apartment & set up the utilities (which we unfortunately didn't have a say in the companies) we were not made aware that we signed up for a year commitment to Infinite Energy & that there would be a $150 early termination fee. We were also not made aware that the Nest thermostat we received would come with a $168 "recovery fee." We were told it would be free & our to keep if we moved. There are no documents on our online account to confirm or deny any of this, we have zero access to them. & of course while they require absurd documentation to waive the early termination fee, the Nest recovery fee cannot be waived. You can't send it back, they just make you pay for it. It would be nice to be made aware of these kinds of things. This is a horrible, expensive company that I'll never go through or recommend to anyone again.

Horrible Company! LATE FEES even when paid ON TIME!!!

If I could give a zero star rating, I would. I have never in my life dealt with a worse utility company. The last 2 months they have charged me a $10 late fee, which they refuse to drop, even though my account is on auto bank draft and the balance is paid in full 2 to 3 days prior to it being due! Unbelievable! The BBB should shut them down. DO NOT under any circumstance sign up for them. They are completely dishonest and a complete waste of time and energy! I cannot believe they even received 2 stars from some clients. I have been a customer in good standing with them for 13 years. I will be researching other companies asap!

Trickery & Deceptive practices

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My bill went from $65.60 in July to $181.95 this month. Of course, they claim that I used more than the allotted amount of 1000 kilowatt that is according to my contract. Well, of course, this is going to happen in the month of August. It is HOT outside. The difference in pricing is ridiculous! What ever happened to a set amount per kilowatt. period! no hidden fees, no usage limits. then your bill triples. They make these contract pricings so difficult to follow that they will get a lot more than what you think the price is. It is pure trickery & deceptive business practices! I will be moving to another electric company as soon as my contract is up! believe that!

Collections for a closed account

I signed up for Infinite Energy for our natural gas provider in late 2014. We had just purchased a new home in Georgia, and went on the recommendation of a friend. It later turns out this friend gets a kick back from Infinite Energy. The rate was slightly less and comparable to what we were currently paying. We had billing issues with them for the first couple of months (inconsistent billing dates, due dates, etc. ) as well as them not turning the gas on when we initially selected them as provider. A year and a half later, I was transferred to a different state that did not have Infinite Energy as natural gas provider, and the home was all electric. I paid the final bill in June of 2016. Then they want me to pay a $50 disconnect fee, after my account was already closed. After a brief phone call, they agree to drop the disconnect fee if I provide them with proof of my new out of state address and transfer letter. I emailed a copy of my employers transfer letter and an electric bill for our new home (with the address on the bill). A month later, I'm getting calls from a bill collector for not paying the disconnect fee. Now its on my credit report for $60. I have disputed the charge, but Infinite Energy will not budge...and neither will I. Stay away from them and their unfair billing practices.

Sign up with them for fixed rate, paperless billing and automatic payment.... BUT what you actually get is an ever increasing rate, and no notification until you get the pink slip in the mail saying you are about to be cut off. Their customer service person doesn't even say sorry, just delete account and sign up again. They tell you that prepay will be $40 and that is only the first payment.... the next will be $50 then $70 then $80. And that isn't an actual consumption amount it is based on the average for the area... so if you live in a 2 bdr apartment you are in a blended rate with the 5 bedrooms homes down the street. Such as bad company.

They have so many fees it is crazy. Their is customer service fee of about $25.00 along with the services.

They send you equipment that you did not ask for and when you decide to cancel their services they charge you $150.00 cancel fee along with 150 fee for the equipment you did not request. They also do not cancel the services when you tell them to.

I ended paying for someone using the services when I moved out of my home due to deployment. They need a BIG FAT ZERO.

They apparently specialize in Price Gouging

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I live in Georgia and signed up with them as mu Natural Gas Marketer for a 12 month fixed rate natural gas plan. After the end of the 12 months I didn't immediately renew with them (nor did I change marketers), they went form 49 cents per therm to 99 cents (at the same time other companies had gone down to below 39 cents). For month 13, I sent my payment based on 49 cents per therm and subsequently got numerous letters and phone calls threating disconnection. .... And after I switched to another natural gas marketer they offered me a price of 30 cents per therm. After seeing how they do business, I wouldn't do business with these rip off artists even for 10 cents a therm. Beware, these jerks WILL take advantage of you if they have a chance.

Signed up for an account in early March 2016. There's a flag on my credit report to require extra identification (I guess? didn't have that issue later...) so they asked for a scan of our driver's license. Told us to email it to a specific email. We did, and heard nothing, so I assumed everything was fine. Fast forward to a month after we move into our new apartment and I find out, nope, they "cancelled" our account and the only recourse given? "Oh I can transfer you to our sales dept so you can start a new account!" No freaking thank you. $100 in fees from my apartment later, I have Gexa and I'm wondering if they just wanted my and my husband's licenses so they can open some fun new accounts of their own. Guess I'll need to be watching my credit report!

Stay away. Lower therm rates because They make their money in reconnect fees.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Think hard. Have you ever missed a single payment to a company? Perhaps, there weren't quite enough funds in the bank account from which bill payments auto-draft... This is my case, I missed one payment. One. It wasn't even a lot of money and I don't have a history of non-payment. Infinite Energy turned off my gas in February. They gave us *NO* notification that they were coming to disconnect. None. The lady in customer service even said that they they had no record of calling. It will take 3 days to turn it back on. They have a sweet system too: 1. Lure customers in with lower therm rates, 2. Have them sign a contract, so that they have no recourse against bad business practices 3. Wait on a mistake. 4. Profit from reconnect fees. I don't know if this is their practice everywhere, but it does appear that this is the system they use in areas where the cultural make-up and income level fit a certain demographic. So, the bottom line is this: If you decide that to go with Infinite Energy, don't ever make a mistake, but you're sunk at that point anyway because your first mistake was choosing Infinite Energy.

Don't even consider this company

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My 73 year old mother signed up with this company and it has been a nightmare. First they charged a $54.00 connection fee when the service was switched. I change my electric company frequently when the contracts are up based on current rates and this is the first time I've ever seen a company charge a connection fee which they "say" was a passed on fee from the power line provider which I find dubious at best. Next they switched unit #13 instead of unit #15 in error and said that it was my mom's fault for entering #13. I went in the their site in Internet Explorer and entering her address the Auto-complete comes back as #15 with NO entry for #13 so #13 has NEVER been entered into that field on their website. Along with that they billed my mother for her electrical usage and also for unit #13 electrical usage. REALLY? Even if the incorrect unit number was entered I can't fathom in this universe or any other alternate reality that they might be living in where she would be responsible for some other persons electrical usage EVER. Don't even consider this company as they are living in some kind of fantasy world where they can do anything they want and charge you as they please no matter the reality of the situation.

Consumer Beware!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Infinite Energy has made an art form of monthly surcharges, assessments, discretionary fees, add-ons, "miscellaneous" charges to provide the highest electric bills I have had in 18 years of living at my address. When a consumer finally gets enough of their shenanigans, and decides to "pull the plug" on them, they will file a derogatory report to your credit reporting agencies. Do not ever give them an entry into your life! There are many options today for electric service. Infinite Energy should be the option of last resort if you value your hard earned money. Their service extends across several states...BEWARE!
